PUERTO VALLARTA
05/05/2012
Woke up to a beautiful Cinco de Mayo in Puerto Vallarta! We disembarked and boarded our bus for the Town, Country and Tequila tour. First we went to old town and walked along the boardwalk and saw statues and then some sand statues! Some of these were real people!! See pictures below! Then we walked up the street to a cathedral. It was beautiful. After getting back on the nice air conditioned bus, we went on a scenic ride thru the section of town where the homes cost $1 million dollars and flats rent for $2,000 a month! We drove thru Ixtapa and stopped at a church where a Quincenera (sp?) was going on. Very neat to see that in person. Our next stop was Hacienda Dona Engracia for a tour of the tequila factory and tasting. They also had food to buy and we had a couple tacos that were good. The tortillas were being made and put right on the plates! They had 6 types of tequila and everyone got a taste of each. A couple pretty were pretty tipsy when they got on the bus to go back! We were very happy with this tour and the guide Ramon. We have now on sailing the seas and will be in Cabo San Lucas in the morning.
